I do know there is nothing wrong with the drive because I've used it just fine with other discs before running into this problem with this disc and I was able to work with another blu ray disc after just fine.ĭoes anyone have any suggestions or workarounds on making it so that my drive can read it?

I do understand that blu ray players dont work with the code in the same way as makemkv but I believe they do with vlc causing my belief to be the drive and not the disc. There is nothing wrong with the disc itself, it plays 100% fine when put in my blu ray player which confuses me. To clarify vlc can play it however with extreme difficulty which is an enormous understatement. This is making it hard for my drive to even play it through vlc. Surprisingly its a silver Blu ray disc making it even more transparent. The movie I'm working with is called Beetlejuice (I just opened it today) and its one of those copies where they put very little print on the disc resulting in the ability to actually see through it.
