It is not a free solution ($19.95 USD + tax) but it worked like a charm. Some examples are dr.fone, Jihosoft WhatsMate and BackupTrans. There are a few third-party apps out here that claim to be able to transfer your data.
You can try emailing the chat history to yourself but then it’s in your email and not on the app. Apps like Move to iOS doesn’t work here either, so on the surface, you’re out of luck. Even if you download Google Drive onto your iPhone, Whatsapp will read from iCloud so therefore your chat history will be empty (unless you had Whatsapp on iPhone a long time ago that was backed up to iCloud. Android backs up messages using Google Drive while iPhone backs up messages using iCloud. Problem: The way WhatsApp handles message coding on Android and iOS is different for each platform. Sorry if this was posted before but I couldn’t find a recent and proven answer.
